Where ERP suppliers go wrong – over Rs 2.5 million wasted

ERP suppliers often miss the mark, leading to significant financial waste. Recently, I’ve encountered prospective customers who have not received proper guidance from their ERP suppliers. One organization, for instance, wasted over Rs 2.5 million annually due to inadequate advice from their Dynamics 365 Business Central partner.

They aimed to transition to the Cloud with Business Central from a Dynamics NAV legacy system and were paying the standard Microsoft Enhancement Plan. However, they were not informed about promotions or price changes that took effect on November 1st. They were also misquoted on license prices, resulting in a payment of $110 per user per month instead of the correct $60 for the premium version of Business Central. With around 100 users, this led to an additional $50 per user per month, totaling $60,000 annually—clearly exceeding Rs 2.5 million.

The irony is that several prospects have faced similar issues, with some having as many as 250 users. It is crucial to reach out, verify your figures, and seek the right advice before following partners who claim to be experts but lack knowledge of current promotions that have been available for the past four years.
